The beach is surrounded by a tropical forest, which we found interesting when we went trail hiking through this. It gives you good vibes and a feel of nature whenever you are amidst the woods doing nothing just lazing around and absorbing whatever Mother Nature has created for a visual treat.

A Marine Sanctuary is there on this island where you can spot beautiful coral reefs and various colorful species from underwater. You can snorkel at Ross and Smith, however, there will be no guides to accompany you.

How To Reach Ross and Smith Island Island?

Reaching Ross and Smith Island From Diglipur

To reach the Ross & Smith Islands, you need to obtain a forest permit from the Forest Office at Diglipur. The cost is predefined by the competent department; our island experts will be updating you with the exact amount chargeable for the permits. You have to take a motorboat to reach the Ross n Smith from Diglipur. The boat leaves from Arial Bay Jetty (The seaport of Diglipur) between 8 am to 2 pm (depending on the weather conditions and permissions from competent authorities). The boat takes about 25 minutes to reach Arial Bay to Ross n Smith Island.

Reaching Ross and Smith Island From Port Blair

Diglipur is situated at a distance of around 300 Km from Port Blair. Therefore, to reach Ross and Smith Island from Port Blair, first, you need to reach Diglipur and then take a boat for Aerial bay to reach Ross and Smith Island.

Reaching Ross and Smith Island From Havelock Island

To reach Ross and Smith Island from Havelock Island, first, you need to reach Port Blair. After reaching Port Blair you can take a cab or bus to Diglipur and later take a boat from aerial bay to visit Ross and Smith Island. 

Stay after visiting Ross and Smith Island

To maintain the solace of this island and keep it open for nature, there has been zero permission to stay back into this island. However, you can complete visiting this place and then return to Diglipur for an overnight stay.

Day 1 - You reach Diglipur
Day 2 - Visit Ross and Smith Island. Evening visit Kalipur beach for turtle nesting
Day 3 - Either Visit Saddle Peak or Visit Ramanagar Beach
